Twin beaches of Arrietara and Atxabiribil sit below dramatic sandstone cliffs in Sopela, just 20 minutes from Bilbao. Consistent sandbars produce fun peaks for intermediate surfers. The left at the river end of Arrietara can be excellent. Multiple surf schools and rental shops operate here year-round. The dramatic cliff backdrop makes it one of the most scenic surf spots in the Basque Country.
