A heavy reef break below towering cliffs between Sopelana and Barrika. Menakoz picks up more swell than almost anywhere on the Basque coast and can hold waves up to 5 metres. The right-hander breaks over a rock shelf and delivers powerful, hollow sections. For experienced surfers only — the rocky bottom, strong currents, and difficult access make it seriously challenging. A proving ground for local big wave chargers.
