When you join our waitlist, we collect:

• Email address — to send you the free surf guide and occasional updates
• UTM parameters — anonymous marketing attribution data (e.g. which ad or link brought you here)
• Analytics data — page views, device type, and general location via Google Analytics and Meta Pixel (see Section 4)

2. How We Use Your Data

• Send you the free "20 Best Beginner Surf Destinations" guide
• Send occasional surfing tips and platform updates (max 1-2 emails per week)
• Improve our website and marketing based on aggregate analytics
• Notify you when new features launch on Gate to Surf

We will never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS). We use Row Level Security (RLS) policies to protect your data at the database level. Our website is hosted on Vercel with HTTPS encryption.

4. Cookies & Tracking

We use the following tracking technologies:

• Google Analytics 4 — anonymous website usage analytics (pages visited, time on site, device type)
• Meta Pixel — tracks ad performance so we can show relevant ads to people interested in surfing

Both tools use cookies. You can opt out by adjusting your browser's cookie settings or using browser extensions like uBlock Origin.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Delete — request deletion of all your personal data
• Rectify — correct any inaccurate data
• Unsubscribe — every email includes an unsubscribe link
